Job summary

Cognizant in Rahway, NJ is seeking an entry-level Sr Lab System Support Engineer to help ensure smooth operation of lab systems, instruments, and data workflows in a regulated pharmaceutical setting. The role covers end-to-end lifecycle management of lab systems, vendor coordination, and compliance with GLP, GMP, GxP, and FDA standards, with emphasis on documentation and audit readiness.

Strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to work under SOPs in a compliance-driven environment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GXP, CSV, and regulatory standards.
• Understanding of lab instrumentation and analytical techniques.
• Experience supporting audits in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level hands & feet support for lab software systems and instrument integration.
• Oversee daily lab activities including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and workflow optimization.
• Act as a liaison between the lab and external entities (regulatory bodies, partner institutions).
• User management activities (e.g., user creation, modification & deletions).
• Coordinate with Desktop support for hardware-related PC/Network issues.
• Communicate with vendors and manage system hardware failures and maintenance.
• Backup of standalone and benchtop systems; application software upgrades.
• Onboarding and offboarding lab systems; monthly patching coordination.
