Job summary

Georgia Tech seeks an engineer to provide services supporting research systems and equipment within an academic unit. The role will interact regularly with management and staff, offering advice and guidance as needed.

This temporary position focuses on contributing to ongoing engineering projects within a research context. The incumbent will participate in design, installation, testing, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation for systems and components, ensuring compliance with applicable codes

Qualifications

• Application of engineering principles and safety practices.
• Ability to use basic and advanced computer applications relevant to engineering responsibilities.
• Strong communication with unit management and staff.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design, installation and testing of systems and components.
• Develop project schedules, plans, and specifications for systems and components.
• Analyze system performance and prescribe corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot systems, including calibration and repair as needed.
• Prepare drawings and diagrams for components and systems.
• Assist in administering project engineering budgets.
• Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.
• Participate in project reviews for quality and code compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned
