Job summary

Georgia Tech seeks a temporary laboratory support technician to assist in operation and maintenance of an academic/research laboratory environment. The role includes setting up, operating, maintaining, and cleaning laboratory instruments, plus ensuring stocked supplies for ongoing experiments.

This position collaborates with faculty, staff, and students, and may involve preparing media and materials for demonstrations, as well as handling routine lab tasks and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or Vocational School Diploma is required.
• Up to two years of job related experience.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation and lab equipment, inventory management, and specialized computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in lab tests and experiments.
• Order supplies and materials; maintain records.
• Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.
• May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.
• Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
