Job summary

Mercy Fort Smith is seeking a Lab Support Technician (LST I) for PRN/as-needed coverage supporting reports, data, and scheduling in the laboratory. You will provide accurate, timely laboratory support and uphold Mercy service standards while handling specimens and reports.

The role requires the ability to collect and process specimens using safe, professional methods, while protecting HIPAA confidentiality and lab policies. Strong customer service skills are essential in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED or enrolled in a healthcare career program.
• No active disciplinary actions or active performance improvement plans.
• Successful completion of probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support and reporting.
• Assist in specimen collection, processing, transport and referrals.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and Mercy policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service for internal and external customers.

Education

College level Chemistry or Biology courses (preferred)
