Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Lab Support Technician (LST I) to join the provider care team in the laboratory. Responsibilities include specimen collection, processing and reporting with strict HIPAA compliance and Mercy Service Standards.

This is a part-time role (24 hours per week) based at Mercy Hospital Southeast – Lab in Cape Girardeau, MO. The LST I supports reports, data and scheduling functions and delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or enrollment in a healthcare career program.
• Completion of probationary period and no active disciplinary actions or active performance improvement plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support including specimen collection, processing, transport and referral of specimens and reports.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and Mercy Service Standards in all interactions.
• Support scheduling and data management for laboratory operations.
