Job summary

Zoetis seeks a Lab Supervisor to oversee daily operations across core laboratory departments, ensuring quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of technicians, optimize workflows, and collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely diagnostic results.

The role emphasizes staff development, safety, and adherence to CLIA/CAP/OSHA/HIPAA standards, with a focus on high-throughput hematology, chemistry, immunoassay, urinalysis, and related analyzers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a healthcare/laboratory environment.
• 5+ years of experience in reference laboratories with 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
• Certification as MLS/MT from an accredited org (e.g., ASCP, AMT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of laboratory technicians and technologists, analyzing veterinary patient samples.
• Oversee day-to-day operations ensuring smooth workflows and turnaround time adherence.
• Manage inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies; ensure adequate stock levels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hematology testing equipment.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments per guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Implement and maintain QC/QA programs to ensure accurate, reliable results.
• Review and analyze test results for accuracy and assist in complex cases as needed.
