Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Technology program.
• Licensed as Tennessee Laboratory Supervisor; licensure required upon hire.
• TN licensure requirements must be met within 90 days.
• Minimum 4 years as Medical Technologist with at least 2 years in blood bank.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily department operations and staff per policies.
• Verify accuracy of test results from staff.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Calibrate and standardize lab instruments.
• Supervise high complexity testing per 493.1489.
• Provide on-site supervision and technical consultation.
• Coordinate staff work assignments and schedules.
• Audit staff work for quality and compliance.
• Use LIS and Blood Bank systems to enter/retrieve results.
