Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Foreign graduates must provide a degree equivalency evaluation.
• Qualified to work with a broad patient population as assigned.
• National certification from ASCP, AMT, or ASCPi upon hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical lab tests and procedures in specimen procurement, examination and analysis following established standards.
• Interprets and reports test results in a timely manner.
• Assists in supervision of Medical Lab Technicians.
• Maintains infection control practices and patient safety.
• Performs waived testing according to CLIA standards.
• Determines acceptability of specimens and documents issues.
• Provides instruction and supervision to MLT and lab support staff.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or Medical Sciences.

Foreign graduates must provide a degree equivalency evaluation through an approved agency (IERF, WES, ECE, or IEE).
