Job summary

Caris Life Sciences in Phoenix is seeking a Specimen Processing Clerk I to support accessioning and clerical tasks for clinical cases. You will learn regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP and NYS) while following laboratory procedures under supervision.

Responsibilities include receiving specimens, creating and managing cases, QA checks, and collaboration with multiple departments to ensure accurate, timely processing and proper specimen handling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general Internet use for business.
• Able to work Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Open packages and video receipt of all incoming specimens for clinical processing.
• Create and manage patient cases, update cases, enter specimens in case, attach documents, and perform QA checks.
• Open/close discrepancies to ensure accurate information and timely processing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Client Services, IHC, PAs, Pathologists and Reporting.
• File, track, retrieve, and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain diagnostic viability and correct patient labeling of all materials; verify information in LIS.
• Log specimens in laboratory logs and enter data into LIS.
• Perform QA/QC for all cases, specimens, and documentation.
• Maintain supply inventory and process purchasing requests per policy.
• Assist with related duties and special projects; Accept other duties as assigned.
