Job summary

Caris Life Sciences, Ltd. in Phoenix is hiring a Pathologist Assistant I (1st shift) to support pathologists in organizing and performing pathology tasks.

You will assist with macros/micros dissection, review reports, and prepare specimens for molecular analyses while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. We expect a relevant degree or certification, with strong attention to detail and ability to work with laboratory information systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant lab science or medical technology field; certification preferred.
• Alternative: Medical Doctor (foreign trained acceptable).
• Alternative: 60 semester hours with required science and lab courses + clinical training.
• Clinical lab training program completion with high-complexity testing exposure.

Responsibilities

• Assists Supervisor - Pathology Operations in daily pathology/microdissection tasks.
• Reads pathology reports to determine the primary site of the specimen.
• Identifies tumor and/or normal tissue on stained slides and marks areas for analysis.
• Assesses CISH stains for gene amplification and orders tests as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and compliance with regulatory agencies; logs documentation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in chemical/biological/clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology

Certified Cytotechnologist (ASCP) or Pathologist Assistant (ASCP or AAPA) or Histotechnologist (ASCP) or other applicable certification

Doctor of Medicine (foreign trained acceptable) or 60 semester hours with specified science/lab courses + ABHES/CAAHEP clinical training
