Job summary

Regions Hospital Laboratory is currently seeking a professional, quality-focused Laboratory Service Technician to join our team. The Lab Services Technician will provide a wide range of laboratory services including specimen collection, client service and reception desk duties, ordering/ scheduling/ billing functions, and laboratory testing.

This position will also serve as a resource for questions from hospital and clinic staff regarding specimen handling and processing, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy experience or training is preferred.
• Completion of a health care program (e.g. CMA, EMT, Paramedic, phlebotomy) is desired.

Responsibilities

• Specimen collection and phlebotomy duties.
• Client service and reception desk duties, including scheduling and billing functions.
• Laboratory testing and specimen processing.
• Dispatching and centrifuging of specimens.
• Delivery of specimens to the appropriate lab/department.
• Assist with workflow management and ECG tracings.
• Answer questions from staff about specimen handling and processing.
