Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a phlebotomy professional to manage laboratory data collection and specimen handling for inpatients, outpatients, and institutional accounts. You will perform specimen collection and non-technical processing, ensuring accurate order, cancellation, and billing of tests.

The role requires completion of an approved phlebotomy program or relevant clinical training, plus a valid phlebotomy certification and color-acuity screening. Weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; clinical training in phlebotomy or an approved program.
• REQUIRED: Two-year degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or health-related specialty; or two years’ experience in specimen collection/processing.
• REQUIRED: Phlebotomy Certification (valid and verifiable).
• REQUIRED: Color-Acuity screening test must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Handles laboratory data collection systems and equipment to ensure proper order, cancellation, and charging of tests for inpatients, outpatients, and institutional accounts.
• Performs specimen collection procedures for inpatients and outpatients; performs non-technical specimen processing and distribution of specimens from patients.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Two-year degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or health-related specialty

Two years’ experience in specimen collections or related clinical lab work

Phlebotomy Certification (valid and verifiable)
