Job summary

Avantor is seeking an Operations Specialist to support Lab and Production Services across multiple locations in the Greater Boston area. This role involves coordinated lab work, inventory management, and customer-focused service with occasional travel to New Jersey and beyond.

The position requires 3+ years in related roles, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Expect a Monday–Friday schedule with daytime shifts and opportunities for travel bonuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates/undergrad degree a plus.
• 3+ years in inventory control/procurement/shipping/receiving/inside sales or related roles.
• Experience with SAP or inventory management systems preferred.
• Overnight travel required; travel bonuses may apply.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple facilities/customers in a strategic geographic area and cover related roles when needed.
• Travel outside the designated territory as required.
• Lead team efforts and coordinate work to meet customer requirements.
• Interface with customers and procurement/purchasing directors to procure lab supplies.
• Utilize Avantor systems (SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager) to manage materials and data.
