Job summary

Halifaxhealth is seeking a Lab Section Supervisor - Point of Care (POC) to support the Laboratory Manager in overseeing testing across newborn to geriatric patients in multiple sections including Blood Bank, Clinical Chemistry and Hematology.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, 3-5 years of clinical lab experience, 1-2 years of supervisory experience, a Florida license, and ASCP or equivalent certification to lead testing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, or related science required.
• 3-5 years clinical laboratory experience required.
• 1-2 years supervisory or management experience required.
• Florida Medical Technologist or supervisor license required.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required.
• Must be skilled in testing for newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

The Lab Section Supervisor assists the Manager of the Laboratory in the smooth operation of the Laboratory by providing technical and administrative supervision over testing on newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in the Blood Bank, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis or Microbiology sections.
