Job summary

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking a Lab Section Coordinator to oversee department activities across shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care. The role balances technical and non-technical duties, focusing on specimen handling, testing, and timely reporting.

You will drive quality control, equipment maintenance, and staff training while supporting the department manager in achieving service, compliance, and performance goals in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• 2 year Associates Degree, Science Post Graduate Degree
• 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology preferred
• State of Florida Technologist license or the ability to obtain
• 3-5 years as a Medical Technologis

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of department functions on assigned shifts under supervision
• Perform technical and non-technical duties in designated areas (technical disciplines, specimen collection, processing and referrals)
• Coordinate quality control, equipment maintenance, training, regulatory inspection prep, and scheduling
• Support Department Manager/Director in achieving goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction and inter-departmental integration

Job Summary and Qualifications

You Will:

• Coordinates the activities of technical and/or non-technical functions of the department on assigned shifts under the supervision of the department supervisor, manager, or director.
• Performs technical and non-technical duties in assigned areas of responsibility as required. Functional areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to technical discipline areas in which department is licensed, specimen collection, specimen processing and specimen referral testing
• Coordination of quality control, scheduled equipment maintenance, personnel training, regulatory inspection preparation, and scheduling.
• Support the Department Manager/Director in achieving department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, healthy work environment, and integration of intra and inter-departmental activities

You Should Have:

• 2 year Associates Degree, Science Post Graduate Degree
