Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Lab Technician for the East Orlando Infusion Center Lab in Orlando, FL. This role supports pre-analytical and analytical processes, performs testing, and ensures quality and safety in daily operations.

You will work a Day shift in a PRN schedule, collaborating with clinical staff and other technicians to maintain workflow and accuracy while upholding compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and compliance with safety policies.
• Ability to follow training for handling hazardous waste and PPE usage.
• Strong written and verbal English, with ability to educate staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies including PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling.
• Participate in performance improvement activities for lab and hospital.
• Evaluate new lab techniques and assist with data collection.
• Maintain lab equipment and spaces through cleaning and disinfection.
• Support clinical staff and guide technicians when needed.
• Perform pre-analytical activities including equipment checks and specimen processing.
• Conduct post-analytical activities and report results.
• Complete tests and procedures per SOPs.
• Participate in proficiency testing and comply with regulations.
• May precept/train new employees and students.
• Provide customer service guidance within guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
