Job summary

ALS seeks a Sample Preparation Technician (P2) in the Sample Preparation Department to work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs. You will perform tasks such as ringing, sieving, crushing, and splitting under supervision, while maintaining production logs and ensuring lab cleanliness.

The role requires good hand-eye coordination, basic English, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a hot, dusty environment, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision.
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision.
• Maintain own production logs; general lab cleanliness.
• Assist with layout duties/tasks; inspect equipment and report adjustments as needed.
• Handle compositing, screen metallics, and special handling requests.
