About the role

Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician (P2) will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

Responsibilities
  • Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervisionLoading and unloading drying ovens under supervisionMaintain own production logs;
  • General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
  • May assists with layout duties/tasksHandling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc;
  • Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required;
  • analytical quality Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures Other duties as assigned..

Required Qualifications

Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of timeAbility to work in a hot and dusty environmentManual dexterity to perform repetitive tasksAbility to lift up to 50lbs; sometimes continuously (occasionally lifting may exceed 50lbs and assistance is mandatory from either another employee or the lift assist equipment)Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilitiesBe cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipment.
