Job summary

ALS is seeking a Sample Preparation Technician in North Las Vegas to prepare client samples for analysis in our labs. The role involves ringing, sieving, crushing and logging production steps while adhering to strict safety guidelines.

You will work in a dynamic lab environment, coordinating with supervisors and teammates to ensure timely sample readiness and clean, compliant operations. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to follow procedures in a regulated setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a laboratory or production setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a hot/dusty environment.
• Basic reading and writing in English and simple math.

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving, crushing and splitting samples under supervision.
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision.
• Maintain own production logs.
• General cleaning to maintain lab cleanliness.
• Assist with layout duties and tasks as needed.
• Handle compositing, screen metallics and special handling requests.
• Inspect equipment and report adjustments to senior staff.
• Follow safety regulations and ALS health policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the role

Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician (P2) will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

Responsibilities

• Ringing , sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision
• L o ading and unload ing drying ovens under supervision
• Maintain own production logs;
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;
• May assists with layout duties/tasks
• Handling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc.;
• Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required; analytical quality
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

About you

• Basic English communication skills (written and verbal).

Required Qualifications

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs; sometimes continuously (occasionally lifting may exceed 50lbs and assistance is mandatory from either another employee or the lift assist equipment)
• Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities
• Be cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipment.
