Job summary

Moderna is seeking a Robotics Engineer to help design, assemble, test, and improve laboratory instruments and automation-enabled research systems. The role requires hands-on engineering across electrical, mechanical, and mechatronic domains, with independent execution and collaboration with scientists.

You will mentor junior engineers, develop test plans, analyze results, and document findings to support reliable, well-documented solutions within a fast-paced biotech environment.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, robotics, automation, or related field.
• Hands-on experience building, testing, and maintaining electromechanical systems with increasing independence.
• Ability to solve moderately complex problems with data and engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

• Support design, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and iterative improvement of lab instruments and automation-enabled systems.
• Assist with mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic design, wiring, and sensor integration.
• Develop and execute experimental test plans; analyze results and document findings.
• Mentor junior team members and transfer knowledge on engineering practices and documentation.
• Create clear design notes, build records, test data, and operating guidance.
