Stony Brook University is seeking a part-time Research Technician I to support a pharmacology research project. The role requires a strong foundation in laboratory procedures and the ability to operate specialized equipment with attention to safety and quality control.

The incumbent will work under Dr. Tsirka in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences, performing routine and semi-skilled tasks, maintaining inventory, and collaborating with team members to advance research goals.

Qualificações

• Associate’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Working knowledge of typical tests or procedures relative to the field of cellular neuropharmacology.
• Research experience in a laboratory environment. Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures, and using special methods for data collation and interpretation.

Responsabilidades

• Perform lab experiments as discussed with the principal investigator.
• Assist with maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety procedures by assembling, preparing and dispensing.
• Participate in weekly lab meetings.
• Maintain lab inventory and equipment.
• Assist in ordering supplies and equipment to keep the lab inventory well stocked.
• Mentor undergraduate/high school students.
• Other duties/projects as assigned.
