Job summary

Stony Brook University seeks a Research Technician I to support a pharmacology research project under Dr. Tsirka. This part-time role (20 hours/week) runs within 8:30am-5:00pm, in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences.

A Bachelor's degree and lab experience are required. The incumbent will conduct routine and semi-skilled tasks, perform lab experiments, help with safety compliance, and assist in ordering supplies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biochemistry/Pharmacology or related field.
• Experience with cell culture and animal experimentation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab experiments as discussed with the PI Dr. Tsirka.
• Maintain compliance with EH&S procedures by preparing and dispensing.
• Participate in weekly lab meetings.
• Maintain lab inventory and equipment.
• Assist in ordering supplies and equipment to keep inventory stocked.
• Mentor undergraduate/high school students.
• Other duties/projects as assigned.
