Job summary

UC San Diego Health Sciences is seeking a Staff Research Associate I in Cellular & Molecular Medicine. The role involves performing routine laboratory procedures across biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and imaging techniques under supervision.

You will manage orders, maintain supplies, and ensure proper disposal of waste in accordance with EH&S guidelines. The position is on campus with 100% appointment and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Theoretical knowledge of molecular and cellular biology or closely related field.
• Working knowledge of DNA techniques.
• Lab experience with sterile techniques and mammalian cell culture practices.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform standard repetitive laboratory procedures including biochemistry and molecular biology assays, cell biology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoblotting.
• Enter requests in the lab ordering system and maintain lab supplies and equipment.
• Follow safety and EH&S guidelines and handle biohazardous and chemical waste properly.
