Responsibilities

• Pre-registration and registration of patients, payer identification and verification.
• Referral to financial counseling and point of service collections.
• Verify benefits eligibility and coordination of benefits; determine patient financial responsibility.
• Ensure data accuracy for patient demographics and benefits in computer systems.
• Understand regulatory requirements (HIPAA, EMTALA, Medicare/Medi- care) and related signage.
