Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in healthcare or business preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Training experience a plus.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration and registration of patients.
• Payer identification and verification.
• Referral to financial counseling.
• Point of service collections and data accuracy.
• Verify benefits eligibility and coordination of benefits.
• Determine and collect patient financial responsibility.
• Understand HIPAA and EMTALA requirements.
