Job summary

Advanta is seeking a Technical Consultant to provide scientific oversight for moderate complexity laboratory testing. The role supports the lab on a 4-day schedule, with availability for on-site, phone or electronic consultation.

The consultant will select test methods, verify procedures, and ensure QC and proficiency testing compliance. Responsibilities include monitoring analytic performance, resolving test-system issues, training staff, and evaluating competency semiannually in the first year

Qualifications

• MD or DO with certification in anatomic and/or clinical pathology by ABP or AOCP, or equivalent.
• Experience in non-waived testing and proficiency testing.
• Ability to establish QC programs and monitor analytic performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site or telephonic/electronic consultation to the laboratory.
• Select appropriate test methodologies for clinical use.
• Verify test procedures and establish performance characteristics.
• Enroll in and participate in proficiency testing.
• Establish and maintain a quality control program.
