Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare in South Carolina is hiring a Lab Phlebotomist responsible for phlebotomy and specimen collection, using LIS and HIS systems for order entry, result look-up and report generation.

You will also handle specimen receiving and preparation and provide basic customer service. The role requires basic phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across Express Care locations and Physician Partners Lab locations with some travel between sites.

Qualifications

• High School/GED (required).
• 1 year phlebotomy experience (preferred).
• Phlebotomy Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures (nasal, oropharyngeal, venipuncture, etc.).
• Enters orders.
• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting.
• Generates reports.
• Provides basic customer service.

HOURS:

Express Care Locations, 8:00am - 6:00pm

Physician Partners Lab Locations, 7:00am - 5:00pm

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Lab Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy and other specimen collection. They use Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) to conduct functions related to phlebotomy, order entry, result look-up and report generation and specimen receiving and preparation. They answer phones and forward appropriate problems to proper area.
