Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare seeks a Lab Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy and related specimen collection. You will use LIS and HIS for order entry, results lookup, and report generation while handling specimen receiving and preparation.

You will answer phones and escalate issues as needed; prior phlebotomy experience is preferred and high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic phlebotomy training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures (nasal, oropharyngeal, venipuncture, etc.).
• Enters orders.
• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting.
• Generates reports.
• Provides basic customer service.

8:00am-4:30pm Monday – Friday (no weekends or holidays)

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Lab Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy and other specimen collection. They use Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) to conduct functions related to phlebotomy, order entry, result look‑up and report generation and specimen receiving and preparation. They answer phones and forward appropriate problems to proper area.
