Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in The Woodlands seeks a Patient Service Technician II to perform venipuncture and specimen collection, assist with CLIA waived testing, and maintain accurate lab records. The role requires BLS and phlebotomy experience within a clinical setting.

You will handle instrument maintenance, quality controls, and safety guidelines while providing strong customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
• Must obtain BLS within 30 days of employment.
• Completion of KSC review/skill validation within 90 days of hire.
• 2+ years of experience if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 3+ years of directly related phlebotomy experience with 1+ year of waived testing/processing.
• Experience with computers and Windows-based software.
• Proven ability to speak, write and understand English.
• Proven ability to use related equipment.
• Proven customer service principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks and other collection services as ordered by the provider.
• Perform CLIA waived testing with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records for inspections/audits.
• Perform quality controls; participate in proficiency testing as required.
• Maintain lab instruments per manufacturer recommendations and safety guidelines.
