Job summary

Veolia North America is hiring a Lab Pack Chemist to manage hazardous waste handling on site in San Jose. Responsibilities include waste packaging, labeling, and coordination for onsite services such as sampling and transport.

The role requires an associate degree in general science or BS preferred, a clean driver’s license, and 20% overnight travel. CDL B with Hazmat endorsement may be required within 6 months. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in general science required (BS preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Moderate to extensive travel with 20% overnight travel.
• Physical ability to lift and move material frequently over 55 lbs.
• Basic chemistry knowledge from general chemistry or biology.

Responsibilities

• Handle hazardous materials including inventorying, identifying, segregating and packaging waste per Lab Pack policies.
• Perform onsite services such as waste collection, bulking, sampling, and safety inspections.
• Prepare shipment of packaged waste with proper labeling and paperwork.
• May require CDL B with Hazmat endorsement; operate Veolia/Clean Earth vehicles.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and contribute to site safety plans.
