Job summary

Veolia in Raleigh, NC, is hiring a Lab Pack Chemist I to perform on-site hazardous waste processing and packaging in accordance with environmental regulations. You will handle inventory, identify and segregate wastes, and prepare shipments for transport while maintaining compliance records.

The role requires an Associate degree in general science (BS preferred) and may require obtaining a CDL B with Hazmat endorsement within six months. Full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience handling hazardous materials in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Ability to assist with on-site waste collection, repackaging and documentation.
• Prepared to obtain CDL B with Hazmat Endorsement within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Handle hazardous materials, inventory, identify, segregate and package waste per Lab Pack policies.
• Perform on-site services including waste collection, bulking, sampling, and safety inspections.
• Assist other groups (Depack, Retail, HHW) as needed.
• Prepare shipment of waste, inspect, label and load for transport.
• Complete shipping papers, LDRs and regulatory documentation accurately.
• Maintain on-site health and safety plans and JSA documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
