Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field.
• MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
• 4 years of experience in a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of the assigned laboratory section(s).
• Plans daily work schedule and assignments for section(s) ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Recognizes the need for and assumes departmental responsibilities daily, when scheduled or in staffing shortages.
• Monitors testing turnaround times, investigates corrective actions, and monitors inventory and supplies.
• Maintains preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Serves as technical resource to subordinates in resolving problems and investigating incident reports or patient complaints.
• Participates in hiring and staff development.
• Suggests improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Performs and verifies staff competencies.
• Performs other related duties as required.
