Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a Laboratory Director to provide technical direction and administration for laboratory personnel across the system. You will ensure standards compliance and coordinate with senior management, physicians and external providers to optimize lab services.

Required: Bachelor’s in medical technology; three years of progressive management in an acute care setting. Master’s in related field or health services administration preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field.
• Three years progressively more responsible management experience in an acute care facility.
• Master’s degree in medical technology, business administration or health services administration (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plans and administers the delivery of diagnostic laboratory procedures.
• Ensures quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
• Manages budgets and monitors variances to meet departmental goals.
• Serves as technical resource for staff and coordinates with system director of laboratory.
• Reviews equipment and supplies and approves major purchases.
