Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking an Operations Supervisor to support daily laboratory operations and lead a team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and service.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will supervise frontline staff, coach and develop employees, manage scheduling and workflow, ensure compliance with lab procedures, and drive continuous improvement in efficiency and patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of laboratory experience, including specimen collection and processing.
• Two years of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or medical setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and drive operational results.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of phlebotomists, laboratory assistants, processors, couriers, data entry staff, and team leads.
• Coach, train, and develop employees to promote engagement, performance, and service excellence.
• Help manage daily operations, staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
• Build strong relationships with patients, clients, and internal teams to ensure outstanding service.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Oversee inventory, supplies, and operational resources to support uninterrupted service.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Support specimen collection, processing, and handling activities as needed.
• Assist with operational projects, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
