Job summary

Legend Biotech is seeking a Lab Support Specialist for the Research & Development team based in Somerset, NJ. The role focuses on managing samples, equipment, records, inventory, and supplies while assisting scientists with testing activities.

Requirements include a biology/chemistry related degree and familiarity with LIMS and MS Office. The position emphasizes SOP adherence, safety, and audit-ready documentation in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field preferred.
• Previous laboratory or healthcare experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety practices.
• Familiarity with LIMS and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety regulations.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, track, and document samples in LIMS.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, software, IT systems, and LIMS readiness.
• Manage supplies, reagents, chemicals, ordering, and supply forecasting.
• Support SOP compliance, audit readiness, EHS standards, and waste management.
• Coordinate with Biosample Management, warehouse teams, scientists, and lab staff.
• Support sample receipt, labeling, logging, processing, testing setup, chain of custody/identity, and LIMS documentation.
• Operate, clean, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, software, IT systems, LIMS, and network setups.
• Maintain an audit-ready laboratory by following SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Assist scientists and laboratory staff with routine lab activities, reagent preparation, testing support, data recording, discrepancy reporting, and issue escalation.
