Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Working knowledge of laboratory practices, chemical handling, and lab operations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs and lab records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with researchers, students, staff, and EH&S personnel.
• No prior lab management experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventories of chemicals, consumables, lab supplies, and research materials.
• Coordinate purchasing, receiving, labeling, and storage of lab materials.
• Maintain chemical inventories and ensure accurate records in inventory systems.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate routine replenishment to minimize disruptions.
• Track equipment maintenance, service records, and calibration requirements.
• Implement and enforce lab safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Coordinate safety training and maintain training records.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as primary contact for safety audits and compliance.
