Job summary

The University of Houston System is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering Technology to manage daily lab operations, coordinate preparations, and ensure efficient use of shared lab resources between classrooms and research labs.

You will supervise student workers, oversee safety compliance, procure and maintain equipment, manage budgets, and provide technical and instructional support, including specialized classroom instruction as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related experience.
• Associate's degree in an Engineering discipline with 10+ years of related experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related job experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and instructional support.
• Collaborates with the Environmental and Health and Safety Department to oversee the implementation of safety procedures in the lab based on federal and state guidelines.
• Oversees lab personnel and provides guidance and proper training.
• Procures and maintains lab supplies and equipment.
• Manages the lab budget.
• Ensures that safety procedures are implemented.
• Researches and builds lab experiments as needed and approved.
• Assists the department and research personnel to conserve resources.
• Provides specialized classroom instruction to students as required.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
