Job summary

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize laboratory operations by managing equipment scheduling, coordinating training programs, and directing maintenance and service activities to maximize efficiency, safety, and compliance.
• Lead procurement, inventory management, and vendor coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of laboratory supplies and services.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance, service contracts, and repair activities for lab infrastructure and specialized equipment.
• Serve as the primary liaison between laboratory personnel, facilities, Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), and external vendors to resolve operational issues and support strategic initiatives.
• Monitor and maintain records of laboratory safety, regulatory compliance, and inspection activities, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
• Develop, implement, and refine procedures and best practices to improve operational workflows, resource allocation, and compliance adherence.
• Support long-term planning for laboratory space, equipment upgrades, and operational initiatives in alignment with institutional goals.
• Track and reconcile operational budgets, invoices, and purchasing records, providing reports and recommendations to departmental leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
