Job summary

SIMCO Electronics in Naperville, IL seeks an Operations Manager to oversee the calibration and repair lab, directing technical operations, customer service, shipping, and quality teams. The role requires independent initiative and interaction with customers, sales, and corporate staff.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a technical service group.
• 10+ years in calibration and repair with formal PMEL or equivalent training.
• 4+ years experience as a supervisor/manager.
• 2+ years proven P&L management experience and lab budgeting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Ability to manage and motivate employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead as a role model and embody SIMCO's Mission in Service.
• Manage lab operations to budgeted financial objectives with P&L responsibilities.
• Oversee and control key expense accounts and staff.
• Maintain accreditation scope as defined and expand laboratory capabilities.
• Improve operational processes to reduce costs and support sales.
• Ensure lab service performance aligns with corporate objectives; assist staff in problem solving.
• Maximize utilization of laboratory assets and expand capabilities.
• Support Regional Director/VP on initiatives and projects.
• Justify asset acquisitions with appropriate rationale.
