Job summary

SIMCO Electronics is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a calibration and repair laboratory in Salt Lake City, UT, with travel as needed. The role includes managing technical and administrative staff, budget responsibilities, and maintaining accreditation standards.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in calibration/repair, with supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and proven P&L management.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a technical service group in calibration/repair
• 10+ years in Calibration and Repair with exposure to physical dimensional, RF/microwave and general test equipment
• Formal PMEL or equivalent technical training is highly desirable
• Minimum 4 years experience as supervisor/manager
• Minimum 2 years of proven P&L management experience and lab budgeting
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage and motivate employees

Responsibilities

• Lead and exemplify SIMCO’s Mission in Service.
• Manage lab operations to budgeted financial objectives with P&L responsibility.
• Oversee technical and administrative staff and control key expense accounts.
• Maintain appropriate levels of accreditation and expand the lab scope.
• Drive process improvements to reduce costs and support sales.
• Provide technical support for sales and operational efforts.
• Maximize asset utilization and expand lab capabilities.
• Support Regional leadership on key initiatives and projects.
• Justify asset acquisitions with sound rationale
