The candidate should have 5+ years in laboratory roles, Florida CLSS license within 3 months, and preferred supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Associate's degree with 8+ years relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of Bachelor's.
• Florida licensed Clinical Laboratory Supervisor within 3 months of hire or transfer.
• 5+ years experience as Technologist/Histocompatibility Technologist/Cytotechnologist/Histotechnologist.
• Preferred supervisor experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day technical operations of the assigned cost center to maximize service and minimize cost.
• Approve and prioritize specimens; perform moderate to high complexity lab procedures across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology, immunohematology, histocompatibility, histology, cytology and molecular areas.
• Monitor and revise the Laboratory Quality Plan; report and address technical incidents, errors or complaints; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement cost center policies; recruit, evaluate, and discipline staff; oversee payroll and scheduling.
• Support staff development and training; supervise educational activities; assist with student testing and evaluation.
• Represent management in meetings and committees; maintain a customer-focused environment.
