Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in our Georgia testing lab. You will supervise staff performing high and moderate complexity tests, manage reagent inventory, and ensure compliance with GMP/CLIA standards.

The role requires strong leadership, training oversight, and collaboration with the Operations Manager and Lab Director. The position emphasizes quality systems, CAPA, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced clinical laboratory

Qualifications

• Have earned a doctoral, master's, or bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or nursing from an accredited institution.
• Or have earned an associate degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or nursing from an accredited institution
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university in medical technology
• MT or MLT certification from ASCP or other accredited certifying organization preferred
• Previous supervisory experience in a laboratory setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day laboratory operations and moderate/high complexity testing.
• Supervises testing personnel and prioritizes workloads with donor center needs.
• Maintains inventory of reagents and consumables.
• Conducts annual performance reviews and training, with oversight by Lab Director.
• Provides technical assistance to staff and donor centers on lab issues.
• Avail­able to provide on-site/phone/electronic support for problem resolution.
• Performs NCMR, ENC, and CAPA functions as assigned.
• Evaluates lab systems and tests for efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Ensures SOPs are current and reflect manufacturer requirements.
• Supports quality improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, Kaizen, Gemba) and metrics.
• Monitors analytic performance and review of QC/test reports for accuracy.

Education

Doctoral, master's, or bachelor's degree in chemical/biological/clinical/medical lab science, or nursing

Associate degree in chemical/biological/clinical/medical lab science, or nursing

Bachelor’s degree or higher in medical technology

MT or MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent)
