Job summary

Jackson County Memorial Hospital Authority seeks a Lab Supervisor to provide day-to-day supervision and direction across designated laboratory areas. The role assists the Director in managing supply control, quality control, policy development, and staff training with 24-hour problem-solving responsibilities.

The incumbent will lead technical staff, ensure consistent quality, maintain inventory, and promote effective communication with the Medical Staff and executives.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication to facilitate interactions with medical and technical staff.
• Ability to deal courteously with patients, physicians, and personnel.
• Strong technical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Provides work direction for personnel and students in designated areas.
• Supervises technical staff to ensure consistent quality of work.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels of supplies.
• Collaborates with staff to develop and evaluate standards of care.
• Acts as leader and role model to lab staff and communicates with medical staff.
