Job summary

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team seeks a capable Lab Operations & Service Coordinator in Hamilton, Ontario. You will support laboratory readiness, handle shipments and inventory, and coordinate risk-free workflows across teams.

You’ll manage records, ensure safety compliance, and help optimize service quality in a fast-paced lab environment with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in a scientific field.
• 2+ years of experience supporting laboratory operations, facilities, logistics, inventory management, or related operational environments.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Experience maintaining operational records, documentation, and reports.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Experience supporting regulated environments (GMP/GLP/ISO) and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary coordinator for laboratory operational support services and maintain day-to-day laboratory readiness.
• Coordinate and track operational requests from laboratory personnel to ensure timely completion and effective service delivery.
• Maintain operational records, documentation, metrics, and reporting.
• Partner with laboratory personnel and support teams to optimize workflows, resolve operational needs, and improve service quality.
• Receive, inspect, process, and distribute incoming laboratory shipments; maintain chain-of-custody documentation.
• Coordinate movement of materials between laboratory locations and ensure proper handling of regulated materials.
• Maintain inventory levels, perform cycle counts and procure routine materials.
• Coordinate waste management, safety inspections, and compliance activities.
