Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Lab Technical Coordinator to oversee microbiology and send-out testing at Delnor Hospital in Geneva. The role involves coordinating staff, developing SOPs, ensuring QA/QC, and working with pathologists to deliver accurate results.

This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position requires bench testing, staff training, inventory control, and compliance with CAP/TJC; a BS in a lab science and ASCP within 1 year are preferred, with 5 years' experience ideal.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science with at least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• ASCP Board of Registry certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing and scheduling for the section to ensure coverage.
• Develop SOPs and maintain document control; ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain inventory and oversee supply requests in line with budget and volume demands.
• Oversee quality control, QA, and patient information; participate in LIS planning and changes.
• Provide staff training and competency assessment; participate in staff performance evaluations.
