Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Lab Technical Coordinator to oversee laboratory operations, coordinate staffing, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Qualifications

• BS degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience including professional experience in a technical specialty specific to the role.
• ASCP Board certification within 1 year of hire (MLS/BB/C/CG/CT/H/HTL/I/M/MB).
• Preferred: minimum of five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience including professional experience in a technical specialty specific to the role.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory coordination: reviews and verifies accuracy of results, QC records and QA parameters; coordinates corrective action.
• Develops SOPs and maintains document control.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
• Participates in planning and maintenance of the LIS; coordinates system changes with approval.
• Investigates and resolves patient, technical and workflow problems in the area.
• Develops and maintains relationships with customers and suppliers; ensures service standards are met.

Education
