Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Associate on 2nd shift at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen processing, LIS data handling, and coordination with nursing and providers to ensure accurate patient results and timely reporting.

You will perform waived/moderate testing under CLS direction, maintain quality controls, and support transport coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year in a general lab, specimen processing or phlebotomy, or enrolled in a related education program.
• Phlebotomy certification or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lab staff and clinicians to ensure patient care.
• Receive specimens into LIS and log data accurately.
• Input and retrieve results in LIS and hospital systems.
• Register drop-offs and ensure proper data entry for referrals.
• Perform diagnostic/analytic testing under supervision.
• Maintain quality control and calibrate instruments.
• Operate and maintain lab automation systems as appropriate.
• Coordinate courier pickups as needed.
• Support phlebotomy and specimen collection according to age-related standards.
