Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Lab Technical Coordinator in Illinois to facilitate the delivery of high-quality laboratory services. You will work with pathologists and specialists to coordinate technology and testing, develop SOPs, and oversee daily operations, training, and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes staying current with developments, coordinating staffing and inventory, and supporting cross-department collaboration to ensure efficient, reliable laboratory performance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience including professional experience in a technical specialty specific to the role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule section staffing to ensure coverage and manage staff assignments.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and document control; oversee training and competency assessment of staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, regulatory and accreditation standards (CAP, AABB, TJC).
• Participate in planning and maintenance of the laboratory information system (LIS).
• Oversee inventory control and supply requests within budget constraints and volume demands.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activities and liaise with supply chain.
