Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Lab Technical Coordinator for Microbiology and Send Outs at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL. This full-time, 40-hour/week role involves coordinating laboratory operations, ensuring QA/QC, and supporting the LIS and information technology needs.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology.
• MLS/ASCP-type certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Preferred: five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule section staffing to ensure coverage.
• Develop SOPs and maintain document control.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and accreditation standards.
• Oversee inventory control and supply requests within budget.
• Provide staff training and competency evaluations.
• Assist in budgeting, product evaluation, and equipment procurement.
