BayCare Health System’s Winter Haven Hospital seeks a Lab Medical Assistant IV on a PRN basis. The role supports technical staff, performs pretesting steps, and ensures accurate testing workflows in a collaborative team setting.

You’ll apply strong communication and computer skills while delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced lab environment. The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with preferred Technical Science or Associate’s background and 1 year in related

• ASCP/SCYM certification (if applicable)
• AMT Medical Technologists certification (if applicable)
• ASPT Phlebotomy Technicians certification (if applicable)
• High School or Equivalent is required
• Technical science background preferred
• Associate’s degree preferred

• Shift Hours: 7:30am - 4:00 pm
• Weekend Work: Occasional

Responsibilities:

The Lab Medical Assistant IV is responsible for:

• Assists the technical staff within the technical departments
• Handles any and all manual pretesting procedures including waived testing as required
• Works in a team environment
• Demonstrate organizational, time management, analytical, delegation, written, and verbal skills
• Use computer skills appropriate to position
• Must have customer service and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of regulatory standards appropriate to position
• Identifies problems and implements and/or recommends solutions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Certification & Licensure:

• Required – Driver's License (if applicable)
• Required – ASCP / SCYM (if applicable)
• Required – AMT Medical Technologists (if applicable)

Education:

• Required – High School or Equivalent
